The selection mask is the central and universal tool for SCOPELAND users and developers to configure the data views of the respective DirectView. The data structures and the metadata are not changed. You can define which data is to be displayed from which tables. Each field in the open table has an entry in the selection screen. You can edit the field name for the current display using the F2 function key. The field can be included in or removed from the selection using the check box in front of it. In addition, each field has a symbol that provides further information:

grey = attribute field

yellow = Identifier fields

pink = detail table (along a to-many relation, starting from the respective table).

For well described metadata, all meaningful and permissible master-detail relationships should be listed here as far as possible. This table can be expanded This lists all fields/columns of this table below. The fields of such detail tables can usually only be selected at this point if an aggregate function is assigned to the respective field. If this detail data is to be displayed directly, the display must be opened as a separate data view (under Develop/Details Detail Data) to obtain the detail data for the current data record. However, these can be used at any time for conditions.

grey with appendix = reference field (to-one relation), can be opened by double-clicking. This includes the table behind it (e.g. a catalog) in the selection and the tables are displayed linked according to the relation. The resulting tree structure represents a section of the relation model from the perspective of the main table of the current data view. In the case of well-described metadata, this should represent all meaningful and permissible relationships to a large extent. Filter symbol = A condition is set in this field. The filter symbol is also displayed on a catalog or detail field if a condition exists within the subordinate table.
